About Us

Who we are

Pastures Ground Foundation is a Ghana-based non-governmental organisation working to strengthen food security and household resilience in rural communities. We focus on practical, nutrition-sensitive solutions that enable women to produce, access, and sustain healthy food for their families—especially in climate-vulnerable regions.

Lilian Bore

Founder

Founded by a Ghanaian changemaker committed to addressing food insecurity in rural communities inspired by lived experience and field-based research in northern Ghana.

Our work is rooted in the belief that food security is not only about availability but also about access, stability, and nutrition. In many rural communities, particularly in northern Ghana, households rely on calorie-dense diets that lack essential nutrients due to seasonal food shortages, high prices, and limited access to water and productive resources. These challenges are intensified by climate change, prolonged dry spells, and fragile agricultural systems.

Pastures addresses these challenges by supporting women-led community gardens powered by sustainable water solutions. Through access to land, clean water, and appropriate agricultural resources, we help households improve dietary diversity, reduce food insecurity during lean seasons, and build resilience against future climate shocks. Our approach is community-driven, environmentally sustainable, and designed to deliver long-term impact.
